We all recently lost the King of Pop.One of the most commercially successful entertainers of all time.During his career of over four decades, he sold 750 million copies of albums and won 13 Grammy awards. Only entertainment legends such as Elvis Presley or the Beatles could be compared with him.As we remember the career of the King of Pop , here is my selections of the Top 10 Michael Jackson songs (It was really very hard job to shortlist ten songs from such diverse variety available.)

A mixture of rock and pop, with the help of Eddie Van Halen.

Bad' is a song about the street. It's about this kid from a bad neighborhood who gets to go away to a private school. He comes back to the old neighborhood when he's on a break from school and the kids from the neighborhood start giving him trouble. He sings, 'I'm bad, you're bad, who's bad, who's the best?'

6.)Smooth Criminal

The best track from “Bad,” Jackson’s 1987 followup to “Thriller,” features a woman named Annie under attack from a ’smooth criminal.’

7.)Scream

"Scream" is cited primarily as an aggressive, retaliatory song directed at the tabloid media and their coverage of the child sexual abuse accusations made against Michael Jackson in 1993.It is a duet with sister Janet Jackson.

8.) Black Or White

"Black or White" was the first single taken from Michael Jackson's Dangerous album, released in October 1991.

9.)Man in The Mirror

"Man in the Mirror" by Michael Jackson peaked at number one in the United States when released as a single in early 1988 off his seventh solo album, Bad.

Reader’s Digest To File For Bankruptcy

Ever popular Reader’s Digest seems to be in trouble. Recent developments in the RD's camp seems to suggest that internal affairs are not so well and the firm is set to file for bankruptcy.

Reader’s Digest Association said that they have planned to file for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection in an effort of cutting down substantially on the debt load that the organization has incurred.

"The organisation has reached an agreement with its lenders on a restructuring plan" reported The Wall Street Journal.

Mary Berner, who is the President and the Chief Executive Officer, said in a statement, “The company has strong brands and products, a leadership position in many markets around the world and a solid plan for the future. Restructuring our debt will enable us to have the financial flexibility to move ahead with our growth and transformational initiatives.”

With such huge brand , it’s unlikely the publication will disappear completely anytime soon. But the organisation needs a focussed and planned approach to survive in the long run.

Usain Bolt Sets World Record In 100m ( 9.58 Sec ) [Video]

Three Times Olympic champion Usain Bolt shattered the 100m world record as he added the world title to his Olympic crown in Berlin on Sunday.

The 22-year-old Jamaican stormed home in a time of 9.58 seconds to leave the rest of the field in his wake.

American Tyson Gay was second in a time of 9.71, with Jamaica's Asafa Powell claiming bronze in 9.84.

The fastest man in the world definately belongs to Jamaica .Check out the video here

Facebook 3.0 Submitted To Apple Store For Review.

For all iphone users , who love using Facebook application on their phone , there is a good news for you. Much awaited Facebook 3.0 has been submitted to Apple.

Today Facebook developer Joe Hewitt tweeted that " Just uploaded Facebook for iPhone 3.0 to the App Store for review. :)" . Few mins later he said that he'l be posting more details and screenshots to app's page on Facebook.

The only disappointing thing is that Push notifications, which Apple enabled with the release of the iPhone 3.0 update, will not make it into this release.
For this we'll have to wait for version 3.1 planned to be released later this summer.

Egyptian Woman Marries 7 Times in 45 days

Have you ever heard about " Addiction to men " ? Yes, I have rechecked, there are no spelling mistakes above.

In Hurghada , Egypt a unique case was disclosed when the police arrested a 25 year old waitress on charges of forgery, fornication and polygamy.

Police officials say that the girl is " Addicted to men".

Since sexual relationships without marriage are illegal in Egypt , the girl used to write unofficial marriage agreements before indulging in one.

The case came forward when her new husband, Ramadan , found a fake marriage agreement dating few days before their official marriage. When asked, she confessed that :

* She is addicted to men.
* She had married 7 times in 45 days.
* She is pregnant.

Two of the marriages were only 10 hours apart.

Sex Offenders Banned From Social Networking Sites

Should sex offenders be allowed to use Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace and other social networking sites?

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn (pictured) thinks not, and this week signed into law a bill that bans all registered sex offenders in his state from using social networks. This sounds satisfying on first listen – after all, why wouldn’t we want to take every possible measure to prevent the horrendous crimes of sex offenders? Texas Court Bans Microsoft To Sell Word

An obscure patent dispute has prompted a Texas District Court judge to order Microsoft to stop selling Word.

The patent relates to the use of XML ( Extensible Mark-up Language ), a programming language that allows formatting of text and makes files readable across different programs. XML is integral part of Microsoft Word.

The patents are actually owned by I4i , a software company based in toronto.

Earlier this year, the court found in a jury trial that Microsoft had infringed the patent and awarded i4i $200m (£120m).

In the latest ruling, the court ordered Microsoft to pay $40m (£24m) for the wilful nature of the infringement and interest on the amounts totalling more than $40m. $37 million (£23 million) in pre-judgement interest, and a further $21,102 (£13,000) per day until a final judgement is reached .

He also granted an injunction banning Microsoft from selling Microsoft Word in the United States, or importing the software in to the country.

Microsoft has 60 days to comply with the injunction but said in a statement that it will appeal the ruling.

Google is the biggest search engine available . Infact quite frequently the word "search" is replaced with "google" at many , for example : " I googled XYZ and got ABC results ".

There is one pretty handful service google provides to help searching relevant information called "Google Suggest".

As you type into the search box, Google Suggest guesses what you're typing and offers suggestions in real time.

One of the funniest result as reported by mashable is when you type in " Twitter is" , just look at what google suggests.

I tried my best but couldn't clear the above screenshot. To overcome the readabilty problems , i am listing the suggestions - retarded , overcapacity , down , useless , lame , pointless , isreal , slow , a waste of time , issues

Few hours ago she astonished all twitter lovers by updating

She's been updating text since then .

Mark Lester Claims the Paternity Of Jackson's Children

Mark Lester , a british actor and a close friend of the late king Michael Jackson , says he could be the biological father of star's children .

Lester, a 51-year-old former child star known for his lead role in the 1968 movie version of the state show Oliver,now works as an osteopath said " Michael Jackson asked me in a private conversation if I'd be willing to donate sperm on his behalf because MJ found it very difficult to have relationships with
women. "
According to lester , MJ was married to Debbie Rowe at that time and since she gave birth to the children so his sperm would have obviously made her pregnant .

In a video on the News Of The World website, Lester said he had come forward at this time "because I have concerns about the welfare and upbringing of the children and this is the only way of assuring this".

He said Paris ( MJ's daugher ) resembles his own 15 year old daughter Harriet and to further solidify the claim , he is ready to take the paternity test .

Paraguay Infant Woke Up Before Funeral

A premature infant pronounced dead in Paraguay was found to be alive when he was taken home for a funeral wake.

According to father (Jose Alvarenga) , when the body was delivered to his home , around four hours later , he heard crying from inside the box , and observed the infant was breathing . Thereafter without wasting any time , he rushed to the hospital .

The baby is now being reported to be in stable conditions.

"This is a very unusual case," said Ernesto Weber, head of paediatric intensive care of that hospital adding that proper investigation will be done.

However Aida Notario, a doctor at the hospital's birthing centre, said that medical personnel tried to revive the infant for a whole hour.

"His pulse was so low that it was undetectable," Notario said.

According to medical records, the infant weighed 500g at birth.

Great John Hughes Passed Away At 59

Today , Hollywood lost its one of the most successful writer/director John Hughes .

He has titles like "The Breakfast Club" "Pretty in Pink" "Sixteen Candles" "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"
and my all time favourite "Home Alone " (which he wrote as well as produced ) under his belt .
Hughes suffered the heart attack while taking a morning walk during a trip to Manhattan to visit family.

He was 59 years old and is survived by his wife Nancy (39) , two sons, John and James; and four grandchildren.

What is Swine flu ..?

Swine Flu, or Swine Influenza, or H1N1 flu is a respiratory illness in pigs caused by type A influenza virus that regularly causes flu in pigs.
Swine flu normally doesn’t affect humans, but there have been a small number of cases in the past. These were mostly in people who had been in direct contact with infected pigs.

What type of Virus has been detected in humans ?

Research has shown that a new form of influenza A/H1N1.9 has been created. This new sub-type hasn’t been seen in either pigs or humans before.
Viruses in the influenza A group may have caused flu pandemics in the past when they have crossed to people and created a unique virus.
Scientists have named it as "quadruple reassortant" virus. More popularly it is known as "Novel H1N" virus .

What are the symptoms ?

According to the CDC symptoms of swine flu are like ordiray seasonal flu which include :

Fever (greater than 100°F or 37.8°C)
Sore throat
Cough
Runny nose

That is what made it a matter of worry for humans . Further , it can easily spread from human to human therby causing global outbreak of this disease .

Which class of humans are at high risk ?

Obese People .
Pregnant women
People with chronic medical problems, such as , cardiovascular disease, diabetes, immunosuppression , and chronic lung disease (eg. asthma)

Is any vaccine available ?

There is a vaccine to protect pigs from the virus but currently no vaccine to protect humans . A seasonal influenza vaccination grown and manufactured for humans will only partially protect a person.The WHO is trying hard in this direction .

What are various Precautions ?

Maintain basic hygiene, such as regular hand washing .
Make it a habit of keeping your hands away from your face , nose , eyes and mouth .
Always cover your mouth while sneezing or coughing . Try using hanky instead of hands .
Disinfect surfaces in the kitchen , bathroom or whichever place you spend most of your time .
Avoid crowd wherever possible.

Home- treatment

If ever you feel like catching the virus , it is recommended that you consult your family doctor as soon as possible. You can also take some steps at home like :

Increase fluid intake .
Avoid going out and take enough rest .
Take medicines like aspirin , paracetamol etc which you normally take incase of fever or cold . ( But consulting physician is always recommended ).

Former Footballer John Hartson Is Now Out Of Critical Care

Former Wales international footballer John Hartson who is fighting cancer has been transferred out of critical care, say his doctors.

The retired footballer, 34, has been critically ill at Morriston Hospital in Swansea since undergoing emergency surgery on his brain last month.

He was diagnosed with testicular cancer which had reached his brain and lungs.

He is now being treated at the city's Singleton Hospital and could begin chemotherapy this week.

Hartson played for Arsenal and Celtic during his career and was capped 51 times for Wales, before retiring from the game in February 2008.

Since the cancer diagnosis was made in July he has undergone two operations on his brain.

The first was emergency surgery to relieve pressure on his brain, and the second was a pre-planned neurosurgical drainage procedure.

But last week the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg (ABM) NHS trust which is caring for him reported a gradual improvement in the star's condition.

He was transferred from Morriston into the care of Singleton's cancer team on Sunday evening, the NHS trust confirmed in a statement.

"If progress continues, we are planning to begin his chemotherapy treatment this week," the statement added.

USA Cricket Association plans IPL-style cricket league

There are plans to launch a Twenty20 cricket league in the US similar to the successful Indian Premier League, a top US cricket official says.

The chief of the USA Cricket Association, Don Lockerbie, said that potential commercial partners are being sought for the tournament.

The matches next year are planned for three venues, including a new cricket stadium that has been built in Florida.

There are some 15 million cricket fans in the US, Mr Lockerbie said.

By organising America's first professional cricket tournament, Mr Lockerbie said he was trying to make America "one of the top 15 cricket playing nations by 2015".

"The planned tournament is a very serious initiative and the chances of it succeeding are better than a 50-over tournament," he said.

Mr Lockerbie said proposals have already been sought from potential commercial partners and efforts were on to find out how much the tournament was worth.

The USA Cricket Association is also trying to get five Test cricket playing countries to send their teams to the US to play some ICC-recognised warm up matches in the run up the World Twenty20 cricket tournament in the West Indies.

Yahoo and Microsoft Finally Tie-Up to challenge Google

Microsoft has finally struck a search advertising deal with Yahoo, 16 months after its first attempt to buy Yahoo failed.

Microsoft has signed a collaborative agreement with Yahoo, which will see Yahoo use Microsoft's Bing search engine as its search platform. Yahoo will provide search advertising both for Bing and its own search site.

With this venture there will essentially be two search engines in the world, only two gatekeepers of the Internet.

Deal's snapshot goes like :

This is a 10 year agreement
Microsoft will acquire an exclusive 10 year license to Yahoo!’s core search technologies – with Microsoft having the ability to integrate Yahoo! search technologies into existing web search platforms
It’s all about Microsoft Bing when it comes to search for both companies. Bing will power Yahoo! search and sites. Yahoo! will continue to use its own technology in other areas of business like enhancing display advertising technology
Each company will maintain separate display advertising business and sales force
Yahoo! will maintain their look and feel on their sites
Yahoo! will focus on a core business or web content and products for its users
Yahoo! and Microsoft search marketplaces will be combined making it easier for advertisers
Microsoft will compensate Yahoo via revenue sharing agreement on traffic generated on Yahoo!’s network of sites
Microsoft will pay traffic acquisition costs (TAC) to Yahoo at an initial rate of 88% of search revenue generated on Yahoo owned and operated sites during the first 5 yrs of the agreement

Yahoo estimates that at “full implementation”, this agreement will:

improve annual GAAP operating income of approximately $500 million
save capital expenditure by $200 million
improve operating cash flow by approximately $275 million

The Microsoft-Yahoo agreement does not cover other areas of their respective businesses including email, IM, display advertising etc. Both companies are hopeful that the deal will close by early 2010.

Shocking return of Schumacher to F1

Michael Schumacher will make a shock return to Formula 1 to replace injured Ferrari driver Felipe Massa.

The seven-time world champion retired at the end of 2006 but will drive at the European Grand Prix on 23 August.

Ferrari said the 40-year-old will stand in for as long as Massa is sidelined by the serious head injuries he sustained in the Hungarian Grand Prix last week.

"For team loyalty reasons I can't ignore this unfortunate situation," said the former Ferrari driver.

His spokesman Sabine Kehm revealed on Tuesday that although Schumacher - who was working as an advisor for Ferrari - was not willing to make a full-time return to F1, he would not rule out standing in for Massa.

Schumacher has not driven an F1 car since April 2008 and competed in the last of his 249 grands prix in October 2006.

And the most successful F1 driver of all time now has slightly more than three weeks to prepare himself for the European Grand Prix in Valencia.

"Ferrari intends to entrust Michael Schumacher with Felipe Massa's car for as long as the Brazilian driver is not able to race," read a team statement.

"Michael Schumacher has shown his willingness and in the next few days he will undergo a specific programme of preparation at the end of which it will be possible to confirm his participation in the championship starting with the European Grand Prix."

There are six more races to go after Valencia, including trips to Belgium, Italy, Singapore and Japan.

Is this all about manhood ? What if he is a president,ain't he a man ?

You must have gone through all such stories through out the internet and newsworld on july 10 , 09.

A misleading photo of Barack Obama checking out the great assets of a young 16 year old Mayora Taveres at the G8 summit in Italy .The Lady did get famous after that. Mr. Obama and the instance became the biggest topic of discussion. Neverthless,the story was actually hillarious. I personally love the work done by the photographer. What a timing it was.

But the event tells us much more. Photos can be deceptive sometimes and this is one of those. Soon after the release of photograph a video footage was released which showz Mr. Obama was not getting naughty at all. Infact he was helping another lady to step down. The real checking out guy is French President Sarkozy. You are the man Mr. Sarkozy lol .. Check it out here.

Though Mr. Obama was not at fault the whole story might hav cost him a bit. He might have to sleep at couch for next few days.
